When will I see my new prescription order on the member website?

It can take up to 72 hours for your order to appear on the member portal. This is due to the time it takes to review and process the prescription before it is prepared to be shipped to you.

How to check your order status and history

After you have placed an online order from our website, you may check your order status by going to Order status. Enter your username, password and your order number or any valid prescription number. We emailed the order number to you. A prescription number can be found on one of your prescription labels (on a pill bottle), your prescription reorder form, or on the invoice that was sent with your last order. The prescription number must be less than 6 months old. After entering your order number or prescription number, the website will display the status and history of all orders placed up to 18 months ago.

How to update shipping and billing information

During the checkout process, you may change the billing and shipping information we have on file for you. You may also update this information by clicking My profile at the top of that page. Next, click on the Manage shipping & payments page to get access to My addresses.

Multiple shipments

We work hard to get every item to you as soon as possible. For this to happen, your order may be split into several shipments. This may be because some items are shipped from different locations, items may be temporarily out of stock, or other reasons. If there is an issue with your order, we will contact you right away.

If your order number has a dash, followed by another number (ie. 123456-2) that means that there is more than one shipment to your order.

If your order is split, any shipping charges will be only added to the first shipment.

If your order is split, any taxes will be added to the taxable items, no matter which shipment they are in. For example, if shipment #1 has no taxable items, there will be no tax added.

If you choose Express Delivery, every shipment will have Express Delivery, unless you ask us not to ship that way. You will only pay for Express Delivery once.

Note: When you give another person access to your account, they will be able to see information about you and your prescriptions. You should be careful about who you choose to have access to this information. You may also wish to review your choice of “Caregiver” or “account manager” on a regular basis by going to My profile / “Manage Access” / “My caregiver access.”

Order delivery time and shipping options

Here are the standard shipping options and delivery times.

  • Prescriptions: Most prescription orders are shipped via USPS First Class Mail. Once OptumRx receives your complete order for a new prescription, your medications should arrive within ten business days. Completed refill orders should arrive to your home in about seven business days. If we need to contact you or your doctor with questions, it may take longer to receive your order. First time fills of new or transferred prescriptions to OptumRx should arrive within 10 business days. It may take up to 72 hours for your order to display online.
  • Medical Supplies: Your first order takes one to two business days to process. During this time, we will work with your doctor to obtain a prescription. To help speed up the process, you may want to contact your doctor's office to ask them to send us a prescription. After we receive the prescription, your order will be filled and you can expect delivery in about four to five business days.
  • Express Delivery: Next-day delivery (after processing) is available for an additional fee. Please select Express Shipping on your mail-in order form or during checkout if you order online.
    • Note: Express Shipping only affects shipping time, not the processing time of your order.
  • US delivery: OptumRx ships to any address within the United States and its territories.
